Jorge Lorenzo MotoGP World Champion 2010

I'll be the first to admit I am not Lorenzo's biggest fan but I will give respect and credit when and where it is due. Lorenzo  was fantastic this year and he has really shown his maturity. You have to admit that when Lorenzo came up to MotoGP he had some spectacular crashes and in the races when things didn't go his way he'd act like a child and make rash decisions and not keep a cool head. But this season he hardly put a foot wrong. He finished all the races, it seemed like he had no bad luck and his new found maturity was at it's best in Malaysia where he secured the Championship - instead of winning the race by miles he just rode it home safely. This kind of thing is exactly what won him the championship.

Although some can argue that Jorge only won the championship because Valentino Rossi was out of action for a few races but I beg to differ. Lorenzo finished 2nd in Qatar - but in the opening laps he took it easy and waited (again showing his maturity) then after that race was Jerez & Le Mans were he looked impossible to beat. I think due to Rossi's injury and that the fact that the other factory bikes were not up to full competitiveness - Lorenzo just took advantage of that factor and rightly rode the hell out of the bike!! But I really do think that no rider including Lorenzo will have a season quite as easy as that.  But again giving credit where it's due Jorge rode that bike brilliantly, he had the best luck all season and did not step a foot wrong. Give the guy clap!! Because some of the races he won were great and good to watch.
